Players Code of Conduct

· Always turn up on time for matches and training.

· Arrive for training and matches with the proper gear, shin guards, water and boots. If you do not have regulation black shorts and socks you are not available for selection.

· Play at all times according to the rules of the game.

· Always show respect for team-mates, managers/coaches, opponents and officials.

· Remember you are playing a team game. Play for yourself and your team - your team’s performance will benefit and so will your own.

· Never argue with another player

· Never argue with referees decisions. If you do you will be substituted.

· Never criticize a teammate. If you do you will be substituted

· At the final whistle shake hands with your opponents and referee

· Do not “Bully” or take advantage of any player. Treat all players as you would like to be treated.

· Always have commitment to your club and pride in your performance.

· Always play to win but accept defeat like proper sportspeople.

· Help out with equipment before and after matches and training.

· Let the manager know, as soon as possible, if you are injured or sick.

Players may be suspended for continuous breaches of this code. All issues which may lead to a suspension will be decided on by the Committee. Any fines imposed by the Club or DDSL must be paid by the player who will not be available for selection until the fine is paid

Parents/Guardians Code of Conduct

· Parents/Guardians should lead by example.

· Remember that all children are accepted into the club regardless of religion, race, color or ability. Teach your children to accept their team mates without prejudice.

· Parents/Guardians should always show respect for all players, opponents, managers, coaches and officials. NB Never get involved with the referees decision

· Remember to let the coach do the coaching at matches and training. Too many coaches confuse the players.

· Do not make any comments other than complimentary, towards players, officials and spectators of opposing teams.

· Parents/Guardians are encouraged to give all players positive support at matches. Parents/Guardians should be mindful that negative comments are counterproductive and Parents/Guardians are requested to “Be positive or be Quiet”.

· Parents/Guardians attending training/matches are asked to conduct themselves in such a way which promotes the definition of fair play.

· Respect the decisions and team selection of the team Manager/Coach.
These are the sole responsibility of the Manager / Coach whose decision is final.

· Teams from U8 to U11 are non-competitive and the Club abides by the FAI recommendations in relation to minimum playing time for all. Teams from U12 upwards play competitive football. Playing time will be based on a combination of attendance at training, physical fitness, attitude and playing ability.

· Parents/Guardians are asked to ensure that Membership Fees are paid on time. If you have any difficulty with payments please contact the Chairperson. Your situation will be dealt with in the strictest of confidence

· In the absence of an agreement to the contrary, if Membership fees are outstanding your child will be deemed to be unavailable or selection.

· Parents/Guardians should ensure their children arrive at training/matches in good time, and with appropriate gear. If a player arrives without the proper gear (regulation black shorts and socks, shin guards, football boots, water) they will not be considered for selection.

· Parents/Guardians should let managers know as soon as possible if your child is injured or sick and unable to attending training or matches.

· Parents/Guardians should ensure that their children are aware of the Players Code of Conduct and that they abide by it.

Parents/Guardians who are in breach of the Code of Conduct will addressed in the first instance by the manager of the team in question. If the behavior persists the matter will be referred to the committee who may impose a suspension or ban on that individual attending club events. In extreme cases the player will be removed from the club.
